(The relays of the ARU will be switched to background music) In case of an announcement, the ARU will switch to the signal coming from the Paging amplifier (for the channels selected by the buttons on the APM microphone) and the announcement will be heard in the selected zone. In normal operation, the output of the background music amplifier will be fed to the ARU and will be heard in all output zones. As long as the amplifier power is sufficient for driving the loudspeakers. This way, only two amplifiers (One for paging and one for background music) are necessary, no matter how many output zones are used. The audio signal coming from the sources (APM Paging Microphone and Line-Level audio source) is amplified before it’s fed to the ARU unit. Besides the APM Paging Microphone, a Line-Level audio source is connected as background music source. This application diagram shows a simple and basic setup with an APM Paging Microphone in an analogue paging setup, combined with an ARU Intelligent Relay Unit.
